"Let us cross over to the other side." Mark 4:35

Has God given you a promise — you will make it to the other side. Has God spoken His Word to your hearts—you will make it to the other side. His Word is your anchor in the midst of any storm. So, what specific Word has the Lord given you? What did He say to your heart, through His Word?

Twenty years ago, we moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to start a church. We didn't know anyone in town — except my cousin and her family who lived about 20 miles away. One day, I was minding my own business, driving a black Chrysler minivan with our two toddler daughters in tow, down a street called Westnedge Avenue when the Lord spoke this "let us go" Scripture in Acts 18:9-11 to my heart: "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city." I had no idea then how specific and God-breathed this Scripture was and would be over the years as storms flared up. This passage has been an anchor for our life and ministry.

When the storm of "I don't believe in women preachers…" rains down, the Lord reminds me to speak and not keep silent. When the waves of criticism and hurtful words bang against our minds, the Lord reminds us that He is our refuge and strong tower. When the winds of discouragement blow in, He reminds us that He has many people in the city and we are not alone. And…time after time, as we keep our faith in His Word, He has brought us to "the other side" in victory after victory.

So, what “let us go” Scripture has the Lord spoken to you? Stand on it. You can trust the Lord — in due season, He will bring you to "the other side" of Victory!

PRAYER: "Father, I am so thankful for Your Word. When You speak a 'let us go' Word to my heart — no matter what storm I face, I believe that You will bring me victoriously to 'the other side.' In Jesus' Name. Amen."
